As of now I have only been admitted to Vanderbilt but since I will have very little time to decide between schools when i hear back from the 2 others, I was wondering which school is best in terms of prestige and which one is best in terms of investment banking placement? Also which one is most fun? I want to go to a school with a very strong work hard, play hard mindset.
Well, the first question…financially, are all about in the same ballpark for you?
Northwestern
@SouthernHope yes financially they are all the same
Northwestern
Northwestern probably
IB placement is probably strongest at Northwestern, then Georgetown. Nevertheless, Vanderbilt is a great school & should get you interviews.
Although Northwestern University does not have an undergraduate business school, it does offer at least two certificate programs which are taught at Kellogg by Kellogg professors. Both certificate programs require a strong math background. In addition to prerequisite courses (calculus, linear algebra, probability, statistics, econometrics, microeconomics & optimization) each certificate requires completion of four courses.
Financial Economics Certificate: Principles of Finance, Investments, Derivatives, & Topics in Financial Economics: Derivatives II.
Managerial Analytics Certificate: Principles of Finance, Operations & Supply Chain Strategy, Topics in Managerial Analytics: Analytics for Strategy, and Competitive Strategy & Industrial Structure.
Of course, Northwestern has an outstanding economics major.
Additionally, related courses available are: Accounting & Business Finance, Macroeconomics, Industrial Economics, Intro. to Mathematical Economics, and Economics of Risk & Uncertainty.
Hope this helps !
