Vanderbilt Waitlist 2024

@Peachmom4 lol it’s really strange how similar your daughters situation is to mine. I’m also committed to my state school and in the scholars program. it was my safety, and i’m not a fan of the campus either. (assuming you live in GA and UGA is her state school). Praying for the both of us.

Thank you guys…It’s just that I am international, and that things are a bit different for us that for us domestic students. Going to college in the US is a huge expense to my fam, and I just hope i could be accepted to my top school (vandy in this case)…Good luck to all of us???

Lol- you are correct! At least you got an offer from UVA though which is an excellent school!! She got her safety ( yes we’re in GA), and waitlisted in 5 others. Rejected from Columbia and deferred-to-rejected from Georgetown.

Good luck to you too, Ruby!! Stressful time for so many people now, for so many reasons.

hopefully the class is not full and we will get the email tomorrow to reconfirm interest.

Also, their deadline to take a gap year is June 1st, so maybe some current enrolled freshman will end up taking a gap year due to the pandemic and that will open up some spots for us. Who knows.

@peachmom4 Yeah UVA offer was nice, but their out of state financial aid is atrocious. Not to mention their net price calculator was WAY off and they only gave me 1/3rd of what the calculator said I would receive… unfortunately I had to decline my offer there.

@DrSenioritis Oh my goodness- crazy!!
Found this interesting article online. Gave me some pause, no doubt…

@DrSenioritis Did you contact UVA financial services before you declined? Hopefully, the Vanderbilt package will be okay if you do get off the waitlist. Many kids end up at their state schools when finances need to come into play ( which is true for most kids). Good luck!

@DrSenioritis - let’s hope we all get some good news soon ??

My daughter did not get accepted in the 3rd round too, but she is not really as keen anymore as she was earlier. I am the one who keeps checking here. I guess the joy of acceptance is much higher when you haven’t started mentally preparing for a college.

Just like you folks, my daughter has sent multiple LOCIs, told them that Vandy is her top choice repeatedly, mentioned that we don’t need any aid and sent some additional info to her admissions counselor who said to her that there will be more round(s).

I guess the criteria is mainly the geographic distribution, diversity, and major. You cannot really control that or change anything. So please don’t be too harsh on yourself, and focus on finding a roommate and such in the college you are committed to.

Fingers crossed and good luck!

@sevmom yeah i sent them an email but they literally didn’t care and didn’t even answer me. i ran vandys NPC and would be able to attend because i’ve heard it’s very accurate!

I just got a fourth email asking if I want to stay on the waitlist. From what I hear, I think the next wave off the waitlist will be about June 1st.

Fourth email was sent today! Wait and watch again!!

@miryal my daughter just got that 4th email too! At least it wasn’t one of those ‘ thank you for your interest, but …’ letters. @DrSenioritis - have you heard anything?

Based on the email timing, would the next wave be Monday?

I got a fourth email too…Not sure what’s happening. So sad

I heard Vanderbilt may be going online half way through the semester in the Fall so they can ensure they make money from students who choose to enroll in the Fall which kinda sucks :(ugh

And yet another.
Opinion or fact???

@Peachmom4 This is accurate, and I think this practice will be used a lot more this year to cover colleges’ financial losses. I joined a Vandy waitlist webinar last month, and the admissions counselors told me that the waitlist was indeed need aware, even though regular admission is need blind.

Do we think lots of students will postpone enrollment to next year because of this? @thelegitbrian
