VT Engineering is a great school, as well. My son will be a CS major and their ties to Amazon’s new HQ is a pretty big draw. He did not receive any financial aid from Vanderbilt, so has decided to continue with VT.

I just got off of the waitlist too, and course registration is my biggest concern. I’m afraid that all of the classes I will want to take will be full. Can anyone talk about their experience being admitted late in regards to course registration? I just want to make sure I am not getting duped here.

I had this problem too (admitted from WL two weeks ago). The first initial rounds of class registration are over, but there is an open registration period in late-July where you should be able to fix your schedule. The university is doing a huge overhaul of the current class schedule and nobody knows when classes will be rescheduled and when registration will occur. Reach out to your academic advisor if you choose to commit and they’ll help you sort it out. When I registered, I was only able to get into two large lecture classes and am hoping I can figure it out during open registration.
Anyone know if its over? probably is, right?
@zokaitlyn I recently submitted my Health records, so I can get out of the registration hold. On the Yes Portal it says open registration starts August 10th. Does that mean I won’t be able to register for classes before then?
@DrSenioritis I don’t think it’s over lol. If they intended to close the waitlist, they’d have done so this week. They didn’t. The ICE thing is going to cause so many internationals to dip. I think it’s so far from over at this point lol. (because of the ICE thing)

Hey, congrats on committing!! Yeah, I have the same thing. They’re changing a bunch of classes to hybrid/online, so everyone will register again during open registration in mid-August. I would email your academic advisor (you can find their email on the CASPAR website or on YES) to be sure. I know they’re also doing some more registration dates for students admitted after the initial rounds! PM me if you have more questions!

@NoodlesWL did that email ask u remain on waitlist? I didn’t receive any interest email yesterday but received an email which asked me if remain on waitlist three weeks ago.
It was an email identical to the previous ones sent out. It’s simply asking me to respond to the question in the MyAppVU portal. I received it yesterday at 5:25 PM CST, and I’m given until July 16th to respond. I thought this was sent to everyone, but the lack of movement on this thread has me confused.
