<p>What are my chances at Princeton, Dartmouth, Cornell, Duke, Georgetown, UVA, Emory (legacy), Vandy (legacy), and Davidson?</p>

<li>very competitive private school in MS</li>
<li>school doesn’t rank but would be close to 7/70</li>
<li>GPA: 3.93 UNWEIGHTED</li>
<li>SATs: 730V, 780W, 670M
SAT IIs: 740 US Hist, 750 English, 650 Math I</li>
<li>EC’s: 500+ hours volunteer work, summer camp counselor, Ensemble, Jazz Band, Spanish Society, National Honor Society</li>
<li>course load: absolute toughest available</li>
</ul>

  • Honors Alg. 2/Trig
  • Honors Spanish III
  • Honors English 10
  • Honors Chemistry
  • Music Theory/Composition</p>

<p>11th Grade:

  • AP American History
  • Honors Precal

  • Photography
  • Russian Studies</p>

<p>Any help would be appreciated.</p>

<p>Your GPA is fine (make sure you stay in the top 10% though!). You might want to get your SAT above 2250 for the top schools on your list. Your 500+ hours of volunteer work could easily turn into a legitimate hook if you wrote essays about how important it is to you. Good luck!</p>

<p>Davidson is a beautiful school. I wish I hadn’t ruled it out so early on due to size. Good luck, I think you are a competitive canidate for most of the schools, Princeton and Duke (unless maybe you’re instate), will be toughest.</p>

<p>The hardest three for you will be Princeton, Duke, and Dartmouth. I think you have a better chance at Cornell (maybe 50/50 if you can stay in the top 10%), and you should be fine at the others.</p>

<p>Math is pretty low for the more competitive schools, but GPA/ECs make up for it for the most part.</p>
