Thread says it all. Variation on the theme. Thanks.

make sure you talk to the people in your classes!!!

Yes, it’s hard.

No, it’s not impossible, and you should not be scared of the program before you even start.

If you get here, take some engineering classes, then decide it’s not for you…that’s fine. But if you back away from it just because other people tell you its hard, you’d be making a mistake.

It’s definitely challenging and your mind will definitely get stretched with every assignment you complete, so try not to procrastinate. That makes it rough.

But I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Quite frankly, I think my grades were low 1st and 2nd semester, because I was so scared about prelims based on what I had heard.

Just try your best and see what happens. If it isn’t what you expect, just modify your study habits and that will help.

How much greater is the workload than, say, that of a typical full IB diploma candidate?

Engineering is hard, but it’s very easy to do well. Of course, the definition of doing well is subject but no matter your goal (unless your goal is a 4.2 GPA), you can do well.

Compared to full IB diploma… I’d say the engineering here is somewhat harder.

Don’t get scared though… make friends with other engineers! You guys will learn off of each other more than you will off the professor
