Variety of Questions

Hi Everyone!
I have already applied to Maryland following the priority deadline. I have some random questions.

  1. Being an in-state applicant do I have any chance at receiving merit aid and being admitted to the honors program?
    ACT: 32 C (29 M 33 E 30 R 35 S 8 W)
GPA: 3.95 (unweighted and will have completed 7 AP courses)
School doesn’t rank, but it is a prominent private school
    Extracurricular Activities:
    JV Tennis: 9-12 (co-captain in 11)
    NSHS: 11, 12
    NEHS: 12
    Rho Kappa: 11, 12
Volunteering with adults with disabilities: 10-12
    Junior Team Tennis (intermediate): 11
Environmental Science Summer Internship (3 weeks, paid): 10
Internship with an internal specialist: 11
    Golf Club: 9
    Ring Decorating Committee: 11
  2. I’m interested in rushing a sorority.Could someone describe the rush process? Is there anyway to rush in the fall if you have enough AP credits?

Thanks!!

I’m not an expert, but I believeyou have a good chance of getting a scholarship. I know nothing about the Greek system. Good luck.

Thank you so much for your reply!

I believe you can rush if you have enough AP credits. However most people rush in the spring rather than the fall. If you wait until spring then you can visit all the houses and meet sisters from every sorority. There are just a few that will be open to rush in the fall. Very early in the fall you can go to “Meet the Greeks” events and get a feel for the girls from different sororities.

Okay! Thank you! I would rather rush in the spring and have the opportunity to meet the sisters from each sorority.

Your are definitely in. I am not sure about merit aid. I am thinking your will get some, at least for freshman year.

Okay! Thank you so much!
