Varsity Soccer

Does the Stanford Varsity Soccer Team ever have open tryouts?

Similar to tryouts, Stanford holds summer soccer camps for high school players who would like to be discovered by the coaches.
[Stanford Academy - Boys Camp](http://stanfordsoccer.com/boys-camp.html) They hold two sessions. ( July 15 to 18 and July 19 to 22 )

What grade are you going to be this year, are you a boy as I am ?
I am trying to get recruited too.

Also the level that you play currently in is crucial as Stanford is a top D1 program.

I have no idea if Stanford has tryouts or not but I will add this. At most top DI level programs even if they have walk-on tryouts the athletes pursuing this option should be realistic about what the likely out come is … if you make the team you most likely will be a scrub and game very little playing time. For some being a scub on a top DI team if preferable to being a major contributor on a DIII team … for others the reverse is true. OP, do you want to make the team or to get a lot of playing time?

My comment comes with a ton of caveats … including … if you’ve been recruited by a ton of DI programs but not on Stanford’s radar up to now and tryout might lead to much more playing time if you make the team.
