Apparently Vassar extended their RD deadline? Just looking for a little confirmation before S24 relies on that.

What’s your kid’s source? I don’t see anything on the main or admissions instagram account, nor have they posted any messages on their website.

Was there an email? My kid submitted a couple of days ago, so maybe they would be excluded from an extended deadline communication.

S24 got an e-mail about it as well. It‘s a little odd that they did not update their website or put up a notice on Instagram. S24 will probably still submit today but now feels comfortable waiting until our guests have left this evening.

Same, he got an email. I have now seen it reported many places, but you may be right it is only going to people who have not already submitted. He has started a Vassar application on Common App, and will be submitting, but has not done so yet.

I think my S24 will not (hence me wanting to confirm). He would like to run it by our high school’s college counseling staff first, which is generally a good idea when possible in our HS.

Hi all,

Any idea what the ED2 decision release date is? Third-party websites say either before Feb 1st, or first week or Feb. Is there any official date/range?

What was the ED2 decision release date in the past years, if anyone knows?

According to their insta, it was Jan 30 in 2023 and Jan 28 in 2022.

Did your DC submit “Your Space”. We are a bit lost here on what to submit.

Any help or guidance pls.

My S24 submitted a link to a private YouTube video, which was a brief past and present montage showing his progression in one of his favorite activities.

Your Space is definitely intimidating in the sense it is so completely open-ended, but I think you have to try to approach it in a spirit of fun. Anything your kid can submit that they feel proud about is likely a good idea.

Historically I believe it has been pretty near the end of March.

Agree - they tend to be pretty late in March and in recent years, at least, frustrate folks with no warning before the decision is released. Last year it was Tue the 28th, and I think I recall some folks saying that that last Tue in March has been a reasonable prediction of late.

Random, but we are going to be in Scotland, flying back the 29th. The 26th (the Tuesday) would not be bad for us day-wise, but if it comes out too late in the day in the US, that is not so good.

Oh well, we will find out eventually . . . .

Past few years they tend to release in the 4:30-5:30 PM Eastern Time range, I believe. So you’d probably still be awake in Scotland. Last year the email notification that the results were available didn’t come until after the decisions were in the portal - some folks had been checking for things like picture/no picture and financial aid checklist/no checklist because there were some portal astrologers on the thread, and one of them happened across the decision just as it posted and alerted the rest of us.

At least it’s March now!

Has anyone been getting emails from the school? Not decision related, just information about the school. We haven’t heard anything from the school since submitting the app and CSS. All of the other schools have sent emails between the application and decision. (Applied RD)

I don’t think that my S24 has gotten much either. Also RD.

Nothing that I know of. In general, my S24 has not gotten a lot of emails from the colleges to which he applied (he still gets a lot from colleges he is NOT applying to). And yet he got admitted to some already.

So I would not worry about this. If a college like Vassar is not sending out a lot of emails to applicants, it probably more speaks to their general confidence about how they will do once they are actually competing for admits, not to any relative lack of interest in your specific applicant.

My daughter has not heard anything really from the college itself since applying. However, she has had continued conversations with the rugby coach but that would be about it.
