It’s okay for HRC to stay in the race. She has every right. But, at the same time, there does not seem to be a realistic chance for her to win it. Imagine if all original candidates decided to fight until the convention! So one can speculate as to why she is so determined to fight on and to keep re-doing the math.

I wouldn’t say conspiracy by any means, but the media was nauseatingly biased in favor of Obama in the middle stretch of this campaign. One of my most memorable moments of the primaries so far was when Lou Dobbs had a bunch of talking heads on his show who were all talking in lofty tones about Obama being amazing and how Hillary should just drop out (this was a couple of months ago). Lou got visibly annoyed and pointed out strongly how a) the race wasn’t even close to over and b) they were being amateurish at best by constantly being to overtly biased. Abashment all round.

I don’t know if the Clintons were being conspired against but I had met people who have a almost unreasonable hatred of Bill & Hillary. For eg. when a friend and staff committed suicide and they were sure the Clintons did it. Even after much investigation by an independent counsel I know people who still believe the Clintons somehow killed Foster.

Some people I know hated Hillary with a passion- they hated that she kept her maiden name, when she changed it they hated her for pandering. They criticized her hair as unbecoming and a disgrace for a first lady when it seems she does not put too much effort into her looks, then they criticized her for changing her hairstyle too often. I could write 10 paragraphs on the things some people find wrong with Hillary -right from the beginning she had high negatives.

I had a friend who said she won’t vote for Hillary because she wears pantsuits !! And my friend is young and educated. She said a lot of people she knew said the same thing !

Only half as nauseating as the press coverage of 9-18 months ago when HRH was all but appointed the next president by the overwhelming liberal press.

Fwiw, this is what makes Hillary’s rejection by her “own” people ever so sweet. Without the support of some of her arch-enemies, this contest could have been over.

Leave it to Clintons’ to keep us entertained with their paranoia and ridiculous claims of conspiracies every time their fat Teflon suits start leaking at the seams.

This is exactly why she should NOT be President. Given the way that the media treated John Edwards and all the other candidates who were not front runners from the outset, it’s pretty ridiculous that they are complaining now.

This is the real world. The media wants a story – they treated Hillary as the front runner from the start, and then they focused on Obama when he emerged as serious competition for a 2-person race. They have been “unfair” to Obama as well, with the “bitter” comment or drubbing the Jeremiah Wright thing to death long after Obama disassociated himself with it.

Clinton’s reaction/statements make it clear that they aren’t prepared to face the realities of a campaign. They think this is bad? Wait until the Swift Boat tactics come into play in the fall. Do they really think Whitewater won’t get resurrected all over again?

xiggi and calmom you beat me to it, my thoughts exactly! Where were the complaints from the Clintons when the media had crowned her the dem nominee more than a year ago? When she was riding high as the presumptive nominee, the media was their friend. Now, they’re ‘out to get her’? Come on. If anyone has a right to complain about press coverage, or lack thereof, it’s Gov. Richardson, Senators Dodd, Biden, Edwards etc…And I think everyone notices, none of these men have complained.

Bill is probably going to end up making Hillary pay for that comment… Anyways, the real reason why the polls that show Hillary defeating McCain in November should be taken with a grain of salt is because, at this time in 2004, polls showed Kerry blowing Bush out of the water in the general election–which obviously did not end up happening.

Well, they are fudging with the poll numbers in any case - there are also a lot of polls showing Obama doing much better in a matchup against McCain than Hillary – and I personally think that the “anti-Hillary” vote in the fall would be much bigger than the “anti-Obama” vote. Hillary’s negatives are very high and the stridency of the accusations only is going to drive them up.
