Under Self Service, Student Center, if you scroll down there is a part called My Application. In the right part of this table, a colored dot has recently appeared. Does anyone know if there is some meaning to this as far as decisions go or is it entirely generic?

i have a green dot by mine?

I’m betting the green dot, or circle, is better than the red octagon.

I have the green dot too - but does this not just mean that the application is complete? I doubt that they’d post an obvious hint so shortly before the official decision. lonborgski - did you ever check to see if something was missing? Maybe they still need a midyear report or some Financial Aid issues have not been cleared. Am I correct in assuming that the decisions will be posted TODAY?

How do you know it is today?

Whenever I try to sign into my account it tells me that it was disabled. Is this happening to anyone else? I want to see if I have a dot :(

b@r!um - it was like this last year, when a friend of mine applied. But I never received anything official (an email with the date and log in), like I did from Smith and Wellesley.
colormehappy - you don’t need the dot anymore.
congrats again!

swiss_mj- I haven’t gotten a decision yet but thanks for the congrats. I hope they will be applicable soon. This waiting is killing me.

oh wow, I’m so sorry! I must have confused you username in all of this excitement… I’m really sorry. I do hope it will be applicable shortly and wish you all the best! Waiting is killing me too…

mine says my account has been disabled…

My account is still working…

The My App box for me shows a yellow triangle. I’m envious of your green dots!

When we finally get our decisions, can everyone post it along with their app status symbol? I am curious if decisions and symbols are directly related or not.

I have a green dot btw.

Hi ladies! I’m a clueless mom trying to help my boarding school daughter who is endlessly slogging home, missing plane connections, etc. I would LOVE to surprise her with “possible good news” about being able to find out about decisions. I noticed on another thread that some girls were getting phone calls. Have any of you received them? And if D is not at school, and doesn’t have cellphone, perhaps the app has room for home phone? Since I didn’t see the application, I don’t know if she’ll have to wait until spring break is over (April 4th). Can’t imagine the torture…thanks in advance for any elucidation!

investor,

I got a phone call on my home line from my admissions officer about a half hour ago. She said that I was definitely accepted. The officer may call your daughter’s room phone if she boards there…I remember a spot on the commonapp for contact info if a student didn’t live at home. If you don’t hear from BMC tonight, don’t worry, the officer told me that they mailed decision letters this morning, so you should be expecting a decision in the mail soon enough.
Best of luck to your daughter!

Hi! I have not received a phone call, but I live in Switzerland. If the office called us now, it would ring the family out of bed and they might not be amused. (Though delighted if the news was good.) I don’t think that BMC calls everyone though - maybe just the ones near Pennsylvania? There was room on the app for the home phone, and I am quite sure that your daughter provided the office of admissions with this piece of information. Have you tried checking her Virtual Bryn Mawr page to join in on the green dot / yellow triangle conundrum?
I doubt this post helped much.
But in any case, good luck to your daughter, and how wonderful that you are so thoughtful of her situation!

My D just got the call! The visit weekend is April 15th & 16th.

Best to all.

I got the call! Hooray. So to add another piece to the VBMC dot/octagon puzzle, my account has been disabled for over a week.

I’m pretty sure the green dot just indicates whether your application is complete or not – mine turned green once they received all of my materials.

Haven’t gotten a call, though. But I do live way in California, so perhaps that’s a bit far? Hopefully it’s that… and not that I was rejected. 'Cause then I’d have to be sad. :P

Congrats to everyone who got in, though! :D

Mine has a yellow triangle as well. x.x No phone call for me either…
