For those who have received acceptance letters from VCUarts – was there any mention of department scholarship $ in the letter?

D interviewed for theatre on 12/7 and there was a general announcement about letters going out by Christmas, and there would be department scholarship awards included in the letter. However, University merit awards would not be known until later.

@Mercsabr - my D applied on 10/19, submitted her portfolio on 11/11, interviewed on campus on 12/7 and was verbally told of her acceptance. Received the big packet in the mail yesterday (12/20).

@Mercsabr – I think the process varies depending on major/school. My D applied to VCUarts.

@savagelion77 My daughter got an email notification of acceptance to the College of Engineering yesterday. The email said that she qualified for merit scholarship and that she would receive a package with details of the scholarship in early spring. She received a letter in the mail today saying that she received the Provost Scholarship.

@coffeebuddy, I got my scholarship letter today and was awarded the dean scholarship. I have a 4.4 GPA and a 33 regular / 34 superscore ACT. I was wondering what your daughters GPA and scores were.

@megegg0308 My daughter’s GPA is 4.63. She’s ranked #6 in a class of 270 at a very competitive high school. Her SAT score was 1440 (760 in math). She did not take the ACT.

@PreDPT2019 Had your daughter received anything prior to yesterday’s acceptance to honors college? My daughter got notification of acceptance to College of Engineering and a scholarship, but it did not mention Honors College (whether accepted or not) which she applied for.

Right after I posted the above comment, I hit a text from a neighbor: Hey there - we have vcu mail for Emma - we just got home from vacation and I was opening a big stack - I’m sorry I tore open Emma’s before I realized it was not ours! I’ll put it in your paper box - good news is they both got in honors college ?

D got acceptance letter to VCU on Dec 14 and to Honors College Dec 27, both via snail mail.

So they are going out snail mail. We are in NOVA.
