no less than 11 Superbowl commercials created by BrandCenter Alumni this year.

Alumni worked on 8 Super Bowl ads according to this article published by the school’s newsletter. The alumni did not “create” 11 ads, they were a part of the development of 8 ads in a range of roles it seems. Congrats to them! (No need to exaggerate their role. It is certainly something for the school to be proud of.)
Brandcenter is a fine GRADUATE school program! Kudos.

HAHAH you guys are hilarious! ■■■■■ much? https://news.vcu.edu/article/Brandcenter_alumni_shine_on_massive_Super_Bowl_stage
QUOTE “As in past years, the Brandcenter, part of the School of Business, was well-represented in the parade of big-budget ads that serve as an entertaining aside to the big game itself. Ultimately, 11 Brandcenter alumni had a hand in nine of the commercials that aired during Super Bowl LI.”
11 alumni . That’s pretty damn impressive. So they most certainly did have a hand in creating the ads.
move on , no great conspiracy here so I juxtaposed 11 alumini with # of spots, oops . Still no arguing its incredible. Congrats again to VCU
not like I purposefully made up bogus employment #'s or something(ms, Rye). Congrats again to VCU
Yes, “had a hand in”! But that is different than saying they created the ads (which is what your original post said.)
everyone who had a hand deserves credit on its creation. Isnt that obvious?

- You stated that Brandcenter alumni created no less than 11 Superbowl commercials.
- You were corrected on 2 counts, citing the school's own newspaper: First, alumni worked on 8 Superbowl commercials, clearly less than 11, and certainly not 11. Second, the alumni did not "create" 11 ads, they were a part of the development of 8 ads in a range of roles.
- The funniest thing, is that you then corrected yourself: First, the alums did not "create" the commercials. In fact, per you, they "had a hand in" them. Second, you are now down to 9 commercials. Still clearly less than 11, and certainly not 11.
Here’s what I think. If you must endlessly shill for a school at which one of your children attends, so be it. Stick to the facts. Don’t embellish and certainly don’t get on the arm with reasonable people who attempt to set the record straight.
Great accomplishment for Brandcenter (GRADUATE school) alums. Take nothing away from these super-talented people. You do their achievements a major disservice by exaggerating them.
@stones3 That’s the problem—No! Saying you created the ad is reserved for very few people who had a hand in its development. The camera persons, editors, account execs, lighting directors all have very important roles, but they cannot honestly put on their resume that they CREATED the commercial.
Say What? Hey, any way you slice it–11 VCU grads =8 superbowl commercials . and that’s just this year. Congrats and its obvious why VCU 's program is held in such very high regard. Proud our D attends and is doing great.
lol…actually it’s any way YOU slice it. In fact, this is the work of 11, in a wide range of greater and lesser capacities, Brandcenter GRADUATE students. Your D does NOT attend the Brandcenter. She is an UNDERGRADUATE student at VCUArts (not to mention in a field unrelated to the one under discussion). Kudos to this VCU graduate program. No need to embellish their accomplishments. Ridiculous to extend their accomplishments to the undergrad generally or to your D specifically.
Hey everyone, further Kudos to VCUARTS as they prepare for the opening of the ICA@VCU center. A multi milliondollar contemporary Art Museum which will be on a World stage!!! incredible.
