The financial aid office said that my U.S. citizenship status could not be confirmed in a match with the Social Security Administration database. I have been a US citizen for 13-14 years. My friends are from the same country and haven’t been US citizens as long as me, but they weren’t ask to verify anything. So it’s just odd I was the only one asked to verify it.</p>

<p>Just send the colleges what they require for documentation. You might also confirm with Social Security that they have correct info for you. This question does come up now and again.</p>
