VERSION 1-CR Discussion- Proessor and Caribbean/Creole Passage test

-2 for 800?

@momof2ky
No I don’t remember what the collective cultures question was, sorry.
Does anyone else?

@Oscarlany
I hope so. It’s very rare that -2 is 790 but it is possible I guess; I hope/think it will be 800, though.

did anyone have a question like if the axis of symmetry is the line x=3 then what points are possible to be the vertex? i chose the ones with three because the place where its split has to be the vertex right?

Yes; one of them was (3,0) and the other was (3,-3), if I remember correctly.

@Novelidea

For the Nepotism one Number 36 and 37 I think are wrong. Number 36 I dont remember that well but the entire passage I dont think goes with empathetic.
Also, for 37 I believe the answer is something along the lines of " as long as nepotism isnt really seen" in the sense that they are qualified and went through the proper training that it isnt really nepotism because they are qualified. The author stressed the importance of being qualified for a job and I felt that was the only case it would be okay. The author was clearly against it, even if the person was given the tools to succed, because thats not what she was against she is agaisnt them getting the position without really earning it

What was the question and other answers for the emphatic and concern choice?

as for #36, the answer was emphatic, not empathetic. big difference. and #37 everyone still thinks it is correct, as do I. I distinctly remember the author said that the only was it was ok was if the person what given the appropriate tools (aka training) in order to succeed. I guess we will never know for sure but I am 99% confident that both were right.

Does anyone know the question asked or any of the other answer choices for the following questions?:

lines show a methodof thinking

Explain paradoxical nature of ignoring culture

Collective culture

Thanks in advance!

24 was where the mom and kid were going through the thought process of figuring out what the square root of 1 is. l" the square root of 100 is 10, the square root of…"

CC is always right trust me. I know from experience haha

@novelidea do you remember the other choices for that question? (emphatic) I don’t remember which ones I chose

@Novelidea I don’t think that “giving them the tools to succeed” necessarily means training, you didn’t consider the other choice of no apparent connection to nepotism?

I am just trying to get a better idea on my score because as of now I think I only missed one. The other one of my questions which there was dissent about was the constraints… I chose perplexing desire to explore

@jtscholar -2 is usually 800 so even if you missed those two questions you’ll be fine

FYI - just got a response from college board about a math ambiguity I challenged. For the coin problem, where 5 coins were divided between two girls, the ONLY answer accepted is 4 ways. 10 ways, although technically correct, will not be accepted. Since when did the math section turn into reading? XD

@TallBoy22
I agree! There just seems to be more and more CR sneaking into the SAT…
So I assume that CB will not omit the question?
Then again, personally, I thought it was clear that “distribute between” meant that all coins had to be between the two people.

Got that question right :D

@novelidea What was the ‘reduce’ question?

 1. Grumbler
 2. Collective Culture and 41. Overstatement seem unfamiliar to me. Can you guys just jog my memory?

If I remember correctly the (Overstatement) question was in the passage about music.

Hey guys~
Anyone remember other choices for these questions?

 1. The celestial object question… There was another answer choice I got confused with
 2. The tools questions… I think it said the beneficiary who was most likely to fit…?
