Hello everyone,

I have a huge problem. My gpa for my first year of college is horrible, it is 2.59 (cumulative). I know it’s because of a lot of procrastination, and time management issues but also adapting to a new grading system. I grew up in a foreign country where the maximum attainable grade average, which is 20 (when it’s 4.0 in the US), is almost impossible to attain and the best one an extremely HARD-working person is 18, whereas in the US getting a 4.0 it is pretty normal and is expected. In fact, in my country, when you get 20/20 average, you will be seen on the national or regional news for a minute, it’s happened before.
So it took me a while to realise that 2.59 is a really s****y cumulative gpa, especially since I used to think that 2.0 was average (since it’s half of 4). Anyways, now I’m really worried for my future and wonder if I will ever be able to raise my gpa, and to how much. Can I really really improve it? And for a reference, for example, is 3.5 at the end of college very good or just average and employers will not hire you easily??

Thank you!
