Very Liberal Colleges

I’m looking for a list of schools that lean towards the liberal side (no cores, self-designed majors, and things of that nature) that are located in the mid-atlantic and new england states. Potential majors are english, communications and psych

Brandeis and Vassar come to mind.

Brown and Amherst.

hampshire college maybe? its not extremely difficult to get into like the colleges the previous posters mentioned.

Smith if you happen to be a female
Hampshire or Hamilton if not

Brown University

Amherst, Wesleyan, Brown, Smith.

If you’re willing to break out of the Northeast, Grinnell.

All have open curriculum.

Pitzer College is big on self-designed majors, but it’s in CA.

Wesleyan
Oberlin
Vassar
Bard
Grinnell
Beloit
Hampshire

Brandeis really isn’t that liberal.

Just going to pimp my school out.
Wells College
[Wells College: The education of an extraordinary life.](http://www.wells.edu)

Pretty liberal, although not as liberal as it was formerly. It used to be all women, and there is still a very strong feminist presence, but men are very much welcome here. It is a great place and under appreciated, but I am getting a great education.

Vassar, Wesleyan, Brown definitely fit your desire for liberalness and open curriculum

Sarah Lawrence (NY), Eugene Lang (NYC) and Bennington (VT)

rocketlouise- I don’t think I would describe Hamilton as very liberal!
