Very Low GPA applying to good colleges

Hello yall.
I’m a 24 year old male currently looking to transfer. Here’s my dynamic stat.

High School GPA: 2.7
State School: Kicked out with like 7 F’s
Junior College: 3.7 (mostly math and sci courses)

I have 1990 SAT but I’m exempt from having to submit.

I’m applying to Boston college, Bucknell and NYU
My junior college sends like 20~30 students to each of these colleges every semester.

Do I have a shot?

It’s hard to say. You’ve clearly shown great improvement since high school, which is obviously a good thing. That 1990 SAT score is quite impressive, although I assume you took it long enough ago that they will not consider it.

I would consider retaking the SAT, if possible; because I’m not sure your junior college GPA alone will be enough to convince admissions offices. If you can get another 1900+ on the SAT, then I imagine you would be a strong candidate for Boston College. For Bucknell and NYU, it’s harder to tell. But a strong recent SAT score will greatly improve your chances for these schools. Good luck!
