I did not understand the secondary school form on the common app until the day before an application is due. I live in California but attend school in New York. It might be postmarked by the 1st for the school but there is also a chance that the secondary school report (filled out by my high school counselor) will be late since it’s such short notice. How big of a deal is this if all the other forms, including college professor recommendations, dean reports, transcrips, SATs, are in on time?

If all the other stuff is submitted on-time, the school usually allows from 1 to 2 weeks for things like recommendations/transcripts to be submitted. If they don’t come in by then, the school usually either asks about the delay or will reject the transfer application (in about 90% of cases, they’ll ask–but the most competitive programs at the most competitve schools usually are the exceptions).
