Will try Village inn for breakfast.
Texas Roadhouse for lunch.
Chilis or Red Robin for dinner.
As wife is also a veteran, could be a day of no meal preparation.

Thank you for your service. It is much appreciated.
Gosh, I didn’t even realize that restaurants were offering that. I think we might go to Olive Garden tomorrow. Looking at what we need for proof, one of the things you can do is wear your uniform
which would be really funny to wear a flight suit after being out of the service for 25+ years…maybe better to bring a picture of ourselves in uniform.
Though we’re not used to getting freebies for being veterans. We’re more likely to buy someone else dinner. Maybe we can get a free dinner for us, and buy some random young couple dinner instead.
My friend ate at Paneras
@busdriver11 Classy move! Love passing on blessings to young families!
That’s an impressively long list of participating restaurants.
Off to Starbucks, I’ll do anything for free coffee. And donuts at Krispy Kreme!
Awesome. Have forwarded this information. Thank you for your service! And keep warm. Today’s parade was freezing. The special speaker was a WW2 nurse. She might be 100.
@busdriver11, you need proof that you served to get a free dinner at Olive Garden?
Its tough when you can’t trust that a person is honest that they served our country.
But it’s very nice that you want to pay it forward
@busdriver11 , veterans can now shop online at the PX/BX. Go to shopmyexchange.com. AAFES is now linked to DOD records so they can verify your service.
Oh, yes, you need proof @deb22. But that’s okay, I found an old ID card with a picture on it. They aren’t asking for much. And we found out awhile ago that Home Depot gives a 10% discount to veterans all the time. That would have saved us so much money, with all my husband’s projects, but at least he really utilizes it now.
Thanks for that information, @dadoftwingirls. I hadn’t realized about shopping online at the PX/BX, I’m going to check it out now. And thanks for posting all the meal information!
Thank you guys for your service!
@busdriver11 , the online PX shopping for all veterans started today.
Really, just today? Then this is timely information!
To all the veterans – Thank you for your service!!
The local florist gave me a very nice red, white, and blue bouquet. We tried to go to Olive Garden for dinner, but it was 4:30 and the waiting time for a table was over an hour and a half. So we went to Carrabba’s, where I got a free appetizer.
^^ @stevensmama, should you go to Olive Garden again, I recommend you go online and get on their waiting list. When I put us on the list, there was a 40 minute wait, so we stayed at home for awhile, and when we showed up, they brought us right to our table. Had a great dinner there. But I know Carrabba’s is better…
@busdriver11, and did you buy anything at the online PX/BX?
I did not, dadoftwingirls, I was not in the mood for shopping at all. We’re more into the saving money mode right now. But I looked at it closely enough to see that they had some very good deals. Thanks for the link!
