via TAG, "PL" (Planned Courses), agreed as well?

Of course outside of school and a contract, anything PLANNED might not always go well, or end successful. With that said, is a course you list on your TAG application as PL, in a way in agreement to take?

My situation: Poly Sci Major, Finishing all Poly Sci assist reqs after Fall 2011, however, I am taking Pre Cal in two separate parts, (Pre Cal A - 1st & Pre Cal B - 2nd), with my first Part this Fall, then PLANNING to take the second half for Spring 2012, however I am not sure if I will absolutely take it, as I will not have any necessary courses to take after this fall. I might just work and save all of the money for when I transfer, and I think I deserve a little break before I transfer.

Any thoughts or input? Much obliged for all responses in advance.

Different places have different policies.

For UCI:
[Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG)](http://www.admissions.uci.edu/admissions/tag.html)

Says

You have to have finished one transferable math/english course by the end of this summer in order to even TAG for UCI.

Another thing is if pre-cal even transferable? In most UC’s, the lowest math is statistics and calculus. I don’t think I have seen pre-cal or lower.

UCD says

UCSD says

For the “transferable” courses, I would check which math courses satisfy IGETC.

thank you for your reply and time & effort okay first, but please don’t try to end your message on a note where it scares me into thinking my entire TAG application will be void. i have been strategically planning my application and am very sensitive on even the thought a 0.00001 percent possibility of rejection. i have met with several counselors and have been told my math sequence is absolutely fine.

the instructions are specific yet broad : has completed one UC-transferable math course with a grade of C or better by the end of the Summer/Fall 20xx term;

FYI, from assist articulation with my school:

i am applying to UC Irvine/ UC Davis, not UCLA/UC Berkeley. the standards arent THAT high. its a public university for crying out loud, why would they require a journalism major to MUST complete only CALCULUS or STATISTICS.

furthermore, I am asking about PL courses in general, not PL math courses, just in my situation i have a math course i am uncertain if I will take next spring and will have it listed as PL at the time i submit my TAG application, so i am just wondering if it will be a class i will have to follow through to take as i have it listed as PLANNED.

Better to warn you now than later.

Also I would worry about about UCI. It says the first transferable math by this summer so would ask the transfer center or UCI about your situation and see if you could still TAG.

It will only affect you if it is apart of the the TAG requirements. English/math/igetc + other specific major requirements. The classes out of the requirements will not affect your TAG contract.

i edited my initial reply a bit.

sadly i am knowledgeable about the UCI math requirement and that in which is disabling me from apply via TAG, i am applying to Davis via TAG though.

none of my PL courses that i am not planning on actually taking arent pre reqs.

but as i said, thank you for the info you provided, but just so you know, pre cal, well at least from my cc, is a transferrable math.
