thank you for your reply and time & effort okay first, but please don’t try to end your message on a note where it scares me into thinking my entire TAG application will be void. i have been strategically planning my application and am very sensitive on even the thought a 0.00001 percent possibility of rejection. i have met with several counselors and have been told my math sequence is absolutely fine.

the instructions are specific yet broad : has completed one UC-transferable math course with a grade of C or better by the end of the Summer/Fall 20xx term;

This agreement lists courses transferable for unit credit at all UC campuses. It
is based on information from the 2010-11 catalog and is valid for the current
academic year listed at the top of this agreement. Courses marked with “UC-”
will satisfy the five areas of the 1998 transfer course requirements. (E =
English, M = Math, H = Humanities, B = Behavioral and Social Sciences, S =
Biological and Physical Sciences)

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT UC’S TRANSFERABLE COURSE AGREEMENTS 

Variable Topics Courses 
These courses are also called “Independent Studies”, “Special Studies”, “Special
Topics”, “Field Work”, etc… Credit for variable topics courses is given only
after a review of the scope and content of the course by the enrolling UC
campus. This usually occurs after transfer and may require recommendations from
faculty. Information about internships may also be presented for review, but
credit for internships rarely transfers to UC. UC does not grant credit for
variable topics courses in Journalism, Photography, Health, Business
Administration, Architecture, Administration of Justice (Criminology) or Library
Departments because of credit restrictions in these areas.

Honors Course Credit Limitation 

Duplicate credit will not be awarded for both the honors and regular versions of
a course. Credit will only be awarded to the first course completed with a grade
of C or better.

Course Repeatability 

An “ea” after the unit value of a course on this agreement is meant to indicate
that the course may be repeated for credit under CCC campus policies. Since
campus policies on repeatability vary, the “ea” indicator does not guarantee
that UC will grant credit for every course that appears multiple times on a
student’s transcript.

i am applying to UC Irvine/ UC Davis, not UCLA/UC Berkeley. the standards arent THAT high. its a public university for crying out loud, why would they require a journalism major to MUST complete only CALCULUS or STATISTICS.

furthermore, I am asking about PL courses in general, not PL math courses, just in my situation i have a math course i am uncertain if I will take next spring and will have it listed as PL at the time i submit my TAG application, so i am just wondering if it will be a class i will have to follow through to take as i have it listed as PLANNED.
