Vibrant and exciting campuses

I am looking for people’s opinions on college campuses that are vibrant and exciting unto themselves. So theoretically the college could be located in a boring town, but the campus itself keeps the students entertained.

I know this has been discussed before, so I am content to read prior posts, but I cannot get the right search terms to get the results I want. I end up getting way too many results!

So, could you either post a link to a thread that would be helpful on this topic or just plain ol’ reply with your opinion?

Thanks!!

Cornell University has hundreds of organizations, musical performances, theatrical performances, intramural sports, fitness activities, concerts, and so on. Very lively students. Very lively campus.

false dichotomy, you don’t need the college to be isolated in order for campuses to be vibrant and exciting. Columbia has a vibrant campus even though it’s in manhattan, and I’m sure you’ll find nerdy, boring isolated campuses in rural areas.

I’m not looking for rural schools, I’m looking for schools that are busy despite being rural. My kid doesn’t want to be in a rural area because it’s “too boring” but if the campus has a lot going on (other than just parties), he might be interested. So I’m looking for those types of schools to have him look into.

Any other ideas?

I think most places with a critical mass of students will have a lot of organizations and activities geared to them; that’s why you might be getting so many search results. It sounds like your kid might be happier at a larger school than at a LAC.
