video application to usc?

I’m 16 years old, really want to be a movie director/screen-writter. I really didn’t care for school in grades 7-10 So I didn’t try. I’m not stupid or anything. I can ace all of my classes if I try and all and get honors. I got them in 9th grade. I’m canadian and i really want to go to USC. I was wondering if the universities look at my previous record or only 11 and 12th grade? Also I just found out that They let people make video application, and was wondering what kind of guidelines one had to follow in order to make one. Such as, time limits, if i’m allowed to get help, use cg/vfx and if the video can be about anything?

Guidelines and everything else you need to know are posted on the film school’s webpage under undergrad admission. If it’s not available right now, it will be come application season.

No more than 5 minutes, and you can make it about anything and use any techniques.

USC Film and TV Production has an acceptance rate of 1-5% of applicants, depending upon the year - and who is giving you those stats (they are NOT published, and various admission people have been quoted with different numbers). You don’t have to have a perfect academic record, but you do need to be accepted to BOTH the university and the SCA program: and meet the academic and creative requirements for both.
