Videos that make you laugh out loud

I have a friend and her 14-year old son who could use a good laugh - can you suggest some DVDs?

I am looking for light-hearted romps and good clean fun, not political humor, raunchy flicks or comedy at the expense of others.

The Marx Brothers never get old.

Galaxy Quest

Liar Liar

Any of the Stooges films

Not sure if the last two fit your criteria…

I was thinking maybe something along the lines of the Mr. Bean movie?

Off the top of my head:

Chicken Run

Just about anything “Wallace and Gromit”

Old TV series, such as The Andy Griffith Show. Barney Fife provides plenty of laughs.

I’ll keep thinking. :)

Almost all of mine are pretty old (because so am I). Some are dated, but still very funny:

In and Out (mid 1990s, with Kevin Kline as a teacher who’s outed on national TV by a former student during an Oscar acceptance speech)

The Producers (the original from 1969 or so, with Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder - some risque bits, I suppose)

most other Mel Brooks movies, if his humor hits their funnybones - Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, Robin Hood: Men in Tights

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

Tootsie - Dustin Hoffman as an unemployed actor who finds success as an actress

Trading Places - about the excesses of business in the 1980s, starring Eddie Murphy and Dan Ackroyd

Monty Python and the Holy Grail!

If they’re open to classic comedies, I think “Bringing Up Baby” and “His Girl Friday” are especially funny.

There’s some occasional mild raunchy dialog, but the TV series “Big Bang Theory” cracks me up with just about every line.

One of my family’s all time favorites is McLintocK. The combination of John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara can’t be beat. My son has always loved the clay slide scene. Of course, you do have to be somewhat of a western fan but I grew up on westerns and war movies because they were all my dad would watch.

My complete list would be:

McLintock
Sister Act and Sister Act 2
George of the Jungle
Father of the Bride
The Pink Panther
Night at the Museum

I don’t know if this qualifies, it from youtube, but I thinks it is so funny…

If we’re doing youtube look for David After the Dentist. I about died laughing.

*Galaxy Quest *is hilarious! As so are the Airplane movies.

*The Great Outdoors *has some LOL moments.

H and I also love the *Crocodile Dundee /I movies.

Of the more recent ones, *Night at the Museum *is awesome!

Holes has some pretty funny stuff.

*The Terminal *is funny and enjoyable.

If they like animated movies, *The Frog Princess * is excellent!

My favorite youtube is still Charlie Bit Me.

We always get a kick out of America’s Funniest Home Videos. And thanks to ABC Family it’s on almost non-stop.

Get them a couple of DVDs of Just For Laughs - that hidden camera prank show is a pure gut-ripping LOL! Like this one:

[Just For Laughs - Gags Vols. 5 & 6 DVD Movie](<a href=“CD Universe - Your Online Music and Movie Store”>Just For Laughs - Gags Vols. 5 & 6 DVD Movie)

Dave Barry & Bill Cosby are pretty funny, depending on your sense of humor. Gave my friend the Marx Brothers DVD set (cheap from Costco). I also like MASH (bought the entire series).

My D also likes “Scrubs,” which is a more modern MASH. She also likes “Frazier,” which the rest of us find irritating. Many like “Sienfeld,” but that might not resonate with a teen.

I second that about David After the Dentist. It is freaking hilarious.

Having been down the nitrous road a few times, I wish I had that kind of buzz that this little kid did. Mine just took away the pain and anxiety of very difficult dental procedures! (I think I got jipped!)

Never give up! Never surrender! (I love Galaxy Quest…)

Of course this is a boy, but I liked Freaky Friday (the Jamie Lee Curtis/Lindsey Lohan one).

How about a great adventure flick–Indiana Jones 1 or 3 are always fun to watch.

Kudos to your friend for wanting to kick back and laugh with a 14-year-old son.

I thought of [The Odd Couple (film) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](The Odd Couple (film) - Wikipedia). Read full synopsis. If what’s making everybody unhappy is related to divorce or suicide, then don’t go there. But once you get through the opening motivators, this is a funny story about two mis=matched male personalities (one a slob, one a neat-freak) who live together and make the best of it.

I’m easy to please, but I can entertain myself just searching “cute puppies” “cute kittens” “laughing baby” and “dancing baby” on you tube.

Try “Surprised kitten”

Movies

My Big Fat Greek Wedding
Swingers
The Jerk
Best in Show
Groundhog Day
Airplane

Ooops - I just made that list with girls in mind. Still some good ones there.

Fail blog–it brings me to tears.

Along the same lines, America’s Funniest Home Videos (OK, I laugh at people getting hurt. I’m ashamed. But I laugh anyway. I also laughed at Borat–but don’t want my kids to watch it.)

A couple of our family’s favorite movies are Pee Wee’s Big Adventure and Napoleon Dynamite–both PG. (People either LOVE these and think they are hilarious, or just don’t get them and think they’re dumb. . .)
