Views of "First Pick" School

I’m a high school junior and for most of high school I had ambitions of going to Yale. However, upon doing some research I found out that Yale might not be what it is letting on. I’m starting to second guess myself whether Yale really is just known for its prestige. Anyone have similar views?

please clarify…“yale might not be what it is letting on?”

I didn’t think Yale sounded all that cool til I started doing research. I mean, come on…the Beinecke rare book collection? HOW AWESOME IS THAT? I love old books! Of course, there’s much more to them than that…the residential college systems look really cool, as well as their resources, course offerings, faculty, and of course the campus, although the buildings aren’t as old as they might seem (a lot of the buildings were built in the 1920’s and 30’s, and they just tried to make them look really old).

Seriously, do a lot more research before you decide that Yale projects an “image” that’s way off base. It might not be right for you, but that doesn’t mean it’s a sucky school.

December of junior year in high school is too early to have a “first choice” school period, let alone second guessing it.

Now is when you should be visiting all different kinds of schools.
