We’re back! It was phenomenal. Way beyond my expectations. I highly recommend it.

I was very organized and only forgot to take one sweater I had planned on! That’s not bad since I didn’t need it anyway. We had the most amazing weather imaginable after a couple of rainy days in Amsterdam and countryside. It was in the 60’s and 70’s all the way and clear. Beautiful. River remained navigable although it was a matter of mere inches near Passau Germany! So glad we dodged that “change boats” scenario.
I could go on and on and on and on raving about it all. The food was fabulous. Seriously, I cannot complain about one thing. Except maybe one German woman who shoved me out of her way. LOL. I totally recognized the throgs of tour groups being annoying. In a couple of the smaller places, there would be three or four ships there at once.
Must say Budapest is gorgeous. Loved it.
We met some great new friends!!!
The only downside…my 98 year old mom has become quite ill while I was away. She is in NC, I am in VA. She is in hospital and will go to rehab for a few days so I feel okay not rushing there. (I am exhausted and 68 y.o. myself). The bottom line is…being prepared. Her situation is not good long term even though she is currently medically stable. Well, enough of that, but it was tough being away like that and getting “that call”.

I am sorry about your mother, but glad you had such a good time! We’ve been thinking of a Viking cruise for next year or the following (our 30th anniversary.) My 81 year old mother and her boyfriend are going on one in March to see the tulips.

I’ve been getting emails from Viking. Some of their European river cruises are “on sale” and incłude airfare. Check out their website. I think you have to book by Thursday to get these deals…but they really are good.
