waitlisted
Deferred in EA round, rejected today. Its fine…committed elsewhere already:) Wasn’t waiting around! Good luck to everyone:)
waitlisted
My son was deferred in EA, and is waitlisted now. 4.0 unweighted, all Honors and AP courses ( all 5’s ), 36 ACT, good ECs/awards.
My son was same as yours last year. Deferred EA, waitlisted RD- business school. He was one of the first to come off the wait list on May 1 or whatever day deposits are due. He declined bc he was accepted at BC and is a happy freshman there now. But he is proof that people do come off the waitlist….
My son is in the same boat. Deferred in EA. Now, waitlisted. 4.1 GPA 1520 SAT. All honors and AP courses. Varsity Athlete. Active in Church. Community Service. Good recs and awards. This was his top choice, too.
Daughter same boat. Similar stats. All the things. Deferred EA. Compelling LOCI. Waitlisted. Accepted student event would have been supremely informative in determining first choice or not. Perfect storm of dysfunction IMHO.
Same story here. Daughter w/similar stats. How many spots could there have even been after ED1, ED2 and early action??
My son turned down his acceptance so hopefully a spot with open for another business student on the waitlist.
Waitlist
Also waitlisted here, and my daughter’s couple of friends who also applied (and are also top 2% students at a very competitive HS) also waitlisted.
To be fair, and this is a bit on my daughter, demonstrated interest is something she is bad at. She does her research, but she isn’t doing anything superficial just to gain DI points.
Nova was always a school that she would need to see merit from to attend, since she already has lower cost net offers from higher ranked schools, so probably moving on from here.
Best of luck to those on the waitlist, and also, congrats on those who were accepted and are attending!
April 13….you can find the information on her portal
Anyone know the acceptance rate this year?
Last year we attended the junior preview day in March and that day they announced during the presentation that the acceptance rate for the class of 2023 was 20.5 percent. The person said it kind of wistfully like they were hoping to be under 20 but just missed it. I haven’t heard this year but wonder if they also announced it then.
Hi all. Any updates on when Villanova will send the wait list document to complete? We’ve not received anything. Best of luck to all and thank you.
Did you ever get an answer to if & when merit notifications are released?
Did anyone get an email from Villanova today asking if you were still interested in being active on their waitlist and confirming your interest again if so? Did it give an option to pick a second major of exploratory sciences? It’s weird because I do not remember this option the first time around, but that was so many months ago.
Just saw on their website, acceptance rate is 23.5%
So this kind of interesting to me…the number of applicants has been flat over the last 3 years (approx 23,500-24,000) and the target class size is the same for each of those years but the acceptance rate was 23% for the class of 2026, 20.5% for the class of 2027, and 23.5% for the class of 2028. I wonder why? Its a relatively small difference but 3% is 700 more acceptances.
They may have accepted the same number of students but 2 years ago many colleges had a higher yield than predicted. This was because there was a balloon of students that took a gap year because of covid or were international students that could travel to the US because of covid. The subsequent class of 2027 had a lower acceptance rate so they could balance for over-enrollment the prior year. If they did not adjust, capacity of housing, class size etc would be a problem.
