Villanova University RD 2022

Ugh. It looks like we’re going the private loan route. I should check if there are discussions about that on this board.

@blowfish7494 I agree with you. I’m not certain why there are different amounts floating around. $70k (which is what mine states), and I believe someone mentioned $66k.

BTW, does Villanova freeze tuition? Asking for a friend :x

Mine includes the st augustine scholarship but it also includes a grant, loans, and family financing offer all at the ~$66K total award

Family financing is not a real award it just makes a payment plan for the left over amount after grants and loans (also you’re eligible for a plus loan of that amount).

The school factors in a personal expense number that isn’t paid to the school and also a travel expense number that is estimated and also not paid to the school. I’m assuming if you live further away, your travel expenses would be higher, so your COA would be higher but you’re not actually paying more tuition! Once you enroll and get your first bill this is no longer on it. I live in the NYC area and my travel expense on my award was $850, so in reality, you’re probably just eligible for more plus loan money if you have to travel by plane to get to nova.

My total award says $67909 but says nothing about out of pocket. The difference you are seeing is probably other expenses. Oh, and it was all Loans and Family Financing, so thanks Villanova.

So pretty much the only financial aid that we received is the grant part? It says total award $70909, but subtracting . all the loans and family financing and work-study, it comes out to be only $44870.

When do we receive a complete award detail that shows how much is allocated for different expenditures? I tried contacting the financial aid office for more info but they’re closed until April 3.

Received a call from my admissions counselor today and was accepted!!!

anyone know when we will receive a packet in the mail about our acceptance?

Received ours yesterday in the mail

I just checked the MyNova portal and the reason why the total award differs is because of how much in outside scholarships was listed on the css profile.

It’s great to have received a generous grant. However, what about years 2-4? Will the grant be awarded every year? Any idea or feedback?

Their website says that the grant remains the same as long as the family’s finances remain similar (income and assets probably).

@bradygoatt Congratulations! My DD has the same stats and status as you and was also waitlisted (NROTC scholarship) Did you call admissions or the unit or anyone to move the process along?

Does anyone know when the letters are going out? Anyone receive theirs yet?

@kris10eastman I emailed the ROO at Widener and wrote about the interest I had at the school and he alerted admissions.

I have a question…my daughter was waitlisted for the business school. Can she ask to be on the waitlist or considered for communications or can she only be considered for one??

^I believe she can be considered for only one school, but I suggest contacting admissions with this question.

@nhsstudent123 thanks for the reply. I wonder how that holds up? I wounder if anyone has any previous experience?
