Violin master degree - IU, CCM, CIM, Northwestern, Manhattan, SFCM, USC, or Rice??

CIM is definitely the stronger string school and the cost of living in Cleveland is a fraction of that in NYC or SF. Most of the grad students or undergrads living off campus either pick up housing a couple of blocks away from the conservatory or live in the Coventry area, and the school provides transit passes. Common sense tells you not to walk alone on any campus at night, but unless you head into East Cleveland, you’ll be fine.
Carina, please send me a PM and let me know which studio you have been accepted to and feel free to ask any questions about the school and the city.
