<p>If so, can you tell me what area of the country you are in and how good your signal is?</p>
<p>I’ve been with verizon for years - and I love their service - but I’m trying to cut back from my 86 dollar per month phone bill. I was thinking of going back to a dumb phone, but somebody suggested a virgin mobile phone since for 35 a month you can still have unlimited texting(pretty much all I use my phone for) and data (which i use occasionally).</p>
<p>I do have a work cell through verizon as well which I could use to make a call here or there in an emergency if I was in a place without signal however I don’t always carry my work cell with me.</p>
<p>Also, does anyone have Simple mobile? Their plans are 40 a month but they seem to have a better network map then Virgin Mobile.</p>
<p>i have a dumb phone with At&T Go phone. with tax, I pay 27.00 a month for unlimited texting and enough minutes for how much i use my cell…lousy coverage in Arizona, but okay where I live. I like the price!</p>
<p>I use Virgin Mobile for my and my kids’ smartphones. Decent coverage in Los Angeles and New York City area. Unlimited texting and data, 300 minutes. It’s far cheaper than a contract plan. Not the best service, but certainly a good value.</p>
<p>My daughter has a Galaxy Nexus smartphone tied to an AT&T GoPhone prepaid account. The account is $100/year and provides 400 minutes of talk. She almost always has WiFi available so she can surf the web. She could also text through WiFi via Google Voice but she hasn’t set that up.</p>
<p>2 virgin Iphones here for 30 per phone(auto pay reduces the 35/month plan to $30. Virgin NYC suburbs is sprint towers, as good as Verizon, some reduced spots, but was similar with verizon. Verizon costs were unforgivable, and eventually will have all 5 phones off and switched.</p>
<p>I swear by Virgin Mobile; I’m grandfathered into the $25 per month deal and I plan on being the last customer on that plan if I have to. My signal has been fine in Massachusetts, Maryland and Florida suburbs. I can’t vouch for anywhere else such as really rural areas.</p>
<p>My D goes to school in Pittsburgh and has used Virgin Mobile plan for 2 years with no complaint. Plan is 300 min talk, unlimited text and data plan for $25 before it got increased to $35. Coverage is also good when she comes home to Pacific NW. The true test will be this summer when she goes to rural Nebraska where reception maybe spotty. I think if you stick to urban centers, Sprint coverage is more than adequate.</p>
<p>My three children use Virgin Mobile. One lives in Minnesota, one in Chicago and one in North Carolina, and the service has been fine for all of them.</p>
<p>My DS is in the middle of nowhere (Crawfordsville, IN) and we got him Virgin Mobile. He has had some issues with the phone that he chose and is upgrading to a more expensive phone next year, but the coverage has been surprisingly good. We have been with Verizon forever but we (the parents) have dumb phones. It is a great deal and so far customer service has been great. No weird hidden charges and he liked the customer service rep when he called once.</p>
<p>I have sprint family plan. It is about $225 for our family of 4 with Apple iPhones. We were pleasantly surprised at the good coverage, even while driving thru PA recently. I also have a TMobile $30/month pay as you go plan with 1500 voice or texts and 30mb data/month which I use for our nonprofit. Both plans work well for me/us.</p>
