Single occupancy means it’s meant for 1 person, so 1 bed. Universities typically have few of those, they’re in demand and more expensive. Double is for 2 people - usually 2 twin beds in 1 room unless it’s suite style. Multiple occupancy will vary in number and likely means Suite style. You’ll have to read into the details or contact the university to get specifics on Multiple occupancy. Most freshman at VT are in double occupancy, 1 small room. But everyone’s in the same boat so it works
