Daughter received an email about applying to VT honors college, is this standard? She is hoping it’s a good sign for an acceptance
It’s not standard based on my experience. One of 2 things listed on their site. Either student checked box to be considered during application process OR a separate invitation comes out shortly after their admissions decision has been released. Have either of those happened for your child?
My kid got that email, essentially reminding them that the deadline to apply for their Honors College scholarship is next Wednesday. If your kid checked the box on the Common App to be considered for the Honors College, your kid will get this email.

Yep she checked that box so guess it isn’t an indication
Hearing a pretty solid rumor from a viable source that EA decisions will likely be out by next Friday, we shall see! Would be a nice surprise!

Definitely teasing us but I feel confident from my earlier rumor that is from a solid lead (someone from the Corps), I think it will be by end of week

They’re certainly stepping up the IG presence/teaser posts! Hope it’s this week. The last couple of years have been 1/31-earliest days of Feb, so this would be great 1/20-something. Good luck to all!

He posted last year for both EA and RD, Juan Espinoza
VT has never given a confirmed date. It’s never been prior to Feb (except 2 years ago, they did a small release in Dec, it received major backlash and they wont do that again). 2 years ago when my oldest got in, it was Feb 2nd. Year prior and year after were both Feb 15th-ish. There is no portal astrology. I have a solid lead that it will be by this Friday but with the impending Snowpocalypse… not sure if it will be impacted.

Last year was Saturday, February 15, at 5:00. They have expressly said it would be sooner this year due to their use of AI to read essays. Combining that with the comment from another user that said we would hear at the end of the week, the 23rd or 24th both seem plausible to me. But the end of the next week wouldn’t surprise me either.
