My CollegeVine simulator has been spot on. I think you just have to put in every piece of data it asks for, even if it says that it is optional.

My DD’s has also been very accurate so far. It has a 34% on VT so…

ok good to know. My son had 90%+ for IU, CU, and JMU and was deferred at all 3. But technically not inaccurate as of now.

Thanks. It was accurate with Michigan St, College of Charleston, UNH and a few others that he got in to. But I think I probably didn’t include everything we needed to. Plugged in GPA, SAT, EXCs and some other stuff. Definitely did not do the AI essay thing.

I actually asked collegevine support about this after I got an unexpected defer at Clemson based on what it said. They said that the number is accurate for AFTER defer. They said their system knows what colleges defer all but the very top applicants. Clemson is like that as is probably some of those schools. So the chance is accurate for RD since you still have a really good shot if you fall just under that top applicant area.

Also did not do the AI essay here. I don’t think that was an option when we made the account.
So far:
6 Safeties with 97-98%: Accepted at all, 4 with merit, 2 in-state not known for merit
1 Safety with 80%: Accepted with merit
1 Reach with 9%: Denied
1 Reach with 15%: Deferred

I heard UVA also said announcing tomorrow. I wonder if they have gotten together and now release at same time And since UVA had an early admission period… VT was allowed to also release some of their acceptances but no more. Almost like there is some new state rule they go together Just very speculative or that they are so much competition for students they don’t want one getting leg up on the other so are following each other voluntarily.
