Accepted! Good luck everybody!
Accepted to College of Engineering! Now the decision on whether I actually want to transfer or not…Good Luck everyone else!
For those of you who just got accepted (congrats!)…does VT send an email to your personal email saying they have a message for you, or do you keep having to log in and check your application status?
@ccawealthofinfo I never got an email, it was just displayed once I logged into my guest account (where it shows when they received your stats)
There is no email, so you just have to keep checking. However, about a week or two after the status page shows accepted, then you get a big acceptance letter/packet in the mail about orientation, summer Academy, etc.
Stats on other people who didnt get a decision yet? and are we for sure admissions are closed for spring break?
update-- called admissions and they are open for spring break, woman said we should check daily from now to may 1
I haven’t gotten a decision yet and I applied last week of Jan!
My stats:
I’m transferring from a 4yr out of state college, I was a D1 student athlete there. I’m a sophomore and my overall GPA is a 3.379 but my past two semester GPA’s were a 3.82, and 3.6- made Dean’s List both those semesters. I applied for the business school and I haven’t taken all the required credits yet because I changed my original major, but I have 46 credits. I only have my sport, and a part time job as current extracurriculars but I have tons from HS. I’m also studying abroad right now.
Tech is my #1 and I’m really hoping I get in!!!
Does anyone know if theres going to be another wave of acceptances every Friday, or is it literally a mystery?
this is random but does anyone know if tech has a physical education requirement? because I am not in the mood to take PE again…
Called today again and the guy on the phone said it really will be at random from now till may 1
I think it is 100% random. They received my college transcript on Feb. 6, and I submitted my application on Feb. 14 (day before the deadline), And I heard last Friday that I was accepted to Engineering. Or it could be by region, I’m from a very small town/county
Ugh they received my transcript on the 6th also but my application was submitted a week before that. I guess I’ll just keep checking every Friday…
They will contact you on your personal email
^ when the admissions decision is in?
I got a letter in the mail (I am in-state) confirming my acceptance to the College of Engineering this week. I was thrown off since I wasn’t expecting a decision until some time from now. The earlier offer of admission makes sense given the earlier application deadline compared to other colleges, and also because VT apparently does transfer admissions in waves.
I applied around New Year’s Day (that Friday), which I presume is why I heard back from the Office of UG Admissions so promptly.
SAT: 1910
HS GPA: 4.1
College GPA: 4.0
I am also a first year, and I came into my first semester with ~20 credits via 7 AP Exam scores and 1 DE course taken in high school. I am taking 20+ credits this semester (17 in the Fall) and am heavily involved on campus. I am already on an engineering track at my current school.
Everyone here seems very qualified, and if you applied early (e.g. first, second week of January) hopefully you will receive an update soon.
Best of luck and wishes to those still awaiting decisions!
@Transferfromcc I never received an e-mail with my acceptance. I just kept checking the status page.
Has anyone received acceptances since last Friday? Or do we expect more to be released at 5pm today?
I haven’t read anything that said anyone has, hopefully some peoples apps will get updated today
I have been following this forum for the past week or so. Is there anyone out there waiting for a final decision based on mid semester grades?
Has anyone here been asked to send in midterm grades yet?
