<p>I think it’s a great idea, but it seems like there are too many steps for a student to go through every night if they are library users.</p>
<p>Well the video says there are two modes–timed and panic button. I think the latter doesn’t involve nearly as many steps. Have not heard about this or similar at my Ds U, but considering the high Crime area of her school, it would be a nice thing. Her U does have a free escort shuttle service but I believe she’s tried to call it after the last shuttle at least once. It’s a good compromise if the student doesn’t want to wait for the escort service or perhaps is going somewhere not served by the escort.</p>
<p>Since D graduates in months this likely wouldn’t help her. Wonder if the phone could always have panic button feature? That would be what is needed PLUS fast response to help acquaintance rape and similar situations.</p>
