^did you get the visa?Mind disclosing the questions? (and answers?!)…and did they go through all your documents or only some? How long did the interview last?

Guys,I got a complex problem. After I already got Visa from one Univ where I have to say some money, I Got offer of Full Scholarship including books allowence. Any Idea what to do? REAPPLY?

@seriusrem: believe me dude, the interviewer didnt ask me a single question except: “How many brothers & sisters do you have?” He just went through my SAT scores, SLC and HSEB transcripts and the I-20 and kept on smiling!!

But, while I sat there waiting for my turn, I heard different counselors ask the most FAQs like “Why USA?”, “What will u do after completing your studies?”, “How did u find … college/university?”, “What is the income source of your family?” etc.

Question No:27
I was issued a visa for one college, but now I have received an I-20 from a different college that I would rather attend. Can I use the same visa or do I need a new one?
-> You cannot use this visa because it is annotated with the name of the school you had originally intended to attend. You will need to re-apply and qualify for the new school.

However i dont think you need to pay the $200 SEVIS fee. You just need to pay $340 ($140 + $200) to them. But its worth the pay since you have a better financial aid now to attend that college!

^ trinitan,
I am not worrying about payment as it worths dollors. I was also sure that new visa should be used. But what I am worrying about is that long tiresome proseduse and scary time inside there. I was told by one of friend that they themself give new appointment and change visa. BUT NOT SURE . Just wanna learn IF ANYONE OR THEIR FRIENDS/RELATIVES HAVE EXPERIENCE

^talk to them at the embassy when u go to take your previously issued VISA ![]()
But, i dont think there’s anything scary to be worried about!!!

Ok tx buddy… I’ll try it out tomorrow.

i request all those who got their visas to post the interview experience, questions asked, answers given and documentation presented in the embassy.

^^^My experience : exactly same as of trinitian. Just same question, nth much

Hey all, do multiple I-20s have an advantage as opposed to a single one?

^^ Its a point for intent to be student, i guess.

Do you think having no source of emergency funds whatsoever in my COF will have a negative effect?

didn’t understand what seriousrem said…can anyone elaborate it.What actually that means?

@seriursrem: the source of emergency funds on your COF doesnt matter. Infact, you need not produce the COF during the interview. All you need is your I20, offer letters and some other stuffs. Dont worry about your COF and the indicated funds. The interviewer will only be looking at your I-20, the amount you need to pay and some other docs.

^can someone elaborate what SERIOUSREM said?

What is written in CoF while applying for colleges doesn’t matter in the embassy and isn’t required as a documents in the interview.

Hey guys, I’ve posted same question on a separate thread but no one replied so I decided to ask same question to you guys. Please take some time to suggest some answers for following questions.Any suggestion would be very helpful.
- Do we really have to show bank balance transactions of last six months? Does it matter if I showed bank balance transactions of last five or even four months? 2.If I were to be partially funded by my cousin currently residing in US, do I need to prove my relationship with him in relationship certificate or Affidavit of sponsorship written and signed by my cousin would be enough? 3.Please provide me a list of the types of documentation that visa interviewer considers essential.
Thanks.
@oracle000001
I am giving your answers to the best of my knowledge. Please feel free to correct me.
- It is not required but recommended. 6 months is the ideal time period I guess. 4 or 5 months should be alright as well.
- I am not so sure about the relationship certificate but will let you know ASAP. Affidavit is required.
3.Since, you probably know about the academic documents, I will list the recommended financial documents:
*Property Valuation (Include Lal Purja)
*Income sources and supporting documents (Enough to convince the embassy that you can manage to pay till you graduate)
*Bank Statement showing enough funds for the first year. (Better if you could cover two years)
*Bank transactions.
*CA report verifying all your income sources.
Welcome.
@hope1097 Is the affidavit required even if your sponsors are your parents, or anybody else in Nepal?
@hope1097 Thanks. I have got another question. Do I need to attest printed copies of my TOEFL and SAT scores from USEF or from my high school counselor if I don’t have official hard copies?
