Visiting/Exams

I want to visit soon but i want to go when classes are in session. Will there still be students there the week of the 18th? if not, when do the students get back?

Haha, lookin’ for kristin on this one. She seems to be my question answer-er extraordinaire.

Not Kristin, but I can help. The semester will be over by that week, and students return the third week in August. Check the admissions website for the summer schedule, but you’re right, it’s good to visit when class is in session.

Thanks a ton!

:) she beat me to it.

i’ll be done tuesday! my honors orgo 2 final ends at noon, and well…i’ll probably be responsibly celebrating at 12:02.

no joke, campus is dead during the summer. if your dates are flexible, you might want to push that back a few weeks to come when summer session is going on. it’s nowhere near as bustling as it is on campus during the fall and spring, but at least it won’t be a ghost town. if that’s the only time you can come, don’t sweat it. you’ll still have fun! it might be interesting to visit during summer welcome because there will be a lot of new freshman and their families here on those weekends, but i don’t know how tours work then.

if you were here this upcoming week i’d probably even offer to give you a behind-the-scenes tour…but by the following week i’ll be prepping for a month-long photography trip to florence (gotta love that MU art department)

enjoy your visit! PM me before you come if you want ideas about where to stay, what to do, and where to eat etc.

^^ I’m definitely not telling my photographer son that MU runs a trip to Florence (though he may already know! I’m making him come home and try to find a job. Oh well: There’s always next year. Have fun!

ohhhh i’m super excited. it’s through the art department. he can find out about it on the international center’s website. it’s a faculty-led program. you get art 2020 credit for taking guided tours of art museums and churches, taking drawing classes at the florence academy of art, and working on whatever intensive art project you want to do. he recommends drawing, painting, or photography–and i chose photography! should be insane. i have quite a few jealous friends :)

wow! sounds like you’ll have a fun trip.
and i just might take you up on that tour offer later in the fall…
