Similar? Fla’s openings are significantly more. Whatever site you are linking doesn’t seem to show a total. How many vacancies are they reporting?

Also, in the link you can see the filters Main Campus , Full Time, Academic, with 291 Openings
You used a third party site for UF Jobs and it lists job openings state wide, not just at the main campus in Gainesville.

Correct, because it showed a total number of openings. And isn’t Penn state across all campuses, much bigger than UF? So percentage wise FL’s openings strikes me as a bigger concern. Is what you linked the total openings across all their many campuses?

Sheesh . Apparently you aren’t reading what I am saying. The CA strike was brief and long over. Your attempt to compare numbers from Penn State were off the mark and I am still waiting for the clarification from your numbers if those numbers represented all the Penn State campuses (which would be more than UF so greater openings is understandable). Do your HW. Instead of arguing. I am sad that UF had the issues it does. I went there for grad school. Contrary to your belief, I want it to be better. But until I hear from by friends on faculty there that things have improved, I am withholding my annual donations. Moving on.

@kevi2900 Since you edited your previous post after my post, can you clarify if the jobs you listed are just academic jobs or all job openings? Am not seeing an easy way on the UF site to see just the academic openings (perhaps you can), but there are apparently 762 overall open jobs at UF listed here Pardon Our Interruption
TBH, it really matters not.
Bottom line, for the umpteenth time, if you will kindly take off your blinders, no one is “anti UF”. For the love of Pete, I got my graduate degree from there. Why would I be “anti UF?” And TBH all the attempts to challenge my concerns with whatever numbers can be pulled from other universities is completely moot/irrelevant. They have nothing to do with the issue. For hopefully the final time, the concern is with what has been happening at UF that has made many faculty very unhappy. That is my concern. My friends who have been faculty there for decades who were previously very happy have, along with others, been more than dismayed with recent changes. I am sad for them and for what has happened there. I would think you’d want to know this since you have a kid there. Twist it any way you wish. No matter.

As far as UCLA you literally blamed their numerous job opening due to CA Strike
All i did was give two universities which have similar numbers of job openings and you made excuses for the amount of job openings they had. UCLA strike for better wages, PSU bigger school or my numbers are wrong. while calling the number of job opening at UF sad.
Yes and Penn State has over 1500 on the same website. Is that Sad
My biggest issue is the characterization that UF having 400 open jobs is unusual and Sad.
When similar schools with similar openings are ok and even justified.
Apparently you don’t seem to want to understand the issue/concern. No one made “excuses”. Simply mentioned the strike last year at the UCs. My mistake to mention it to you. Have a nice day.
