I’m visiting and interviewing this Friday, does anyone have any interview tips? Thanks in advance for any advice!

Dress in comfortable walking shoes–that’s the best advice I can give you, in case your sponsor wants to give you the “dime tour” of the campus (which is actually amazing this time of year). Be polite. If your sponsor is young, you can feel free to “mess” with them a little. If you have an alumnus volunteer, bite the bullet and pretend you care what he/she’s saying.

During my interview, I had an alumnus who was about 70 years old. We just sat in a renovated Admissions office for 1.5 hours while he talked to me about all the construction the campus has undergone. But I didn’t do an overnight visit since I live in STL. My sister did, however, and she got two freshmen to show her around–no interview.

If you’re doing an overnight, you might get to see some sights (winks wink) so you might pass on the tie and slacks.
