Hello everyone
Quick question. I’m visiting Tufts next week with our Junior. Thinking about bringing a younger sibling who has a knee injury (crutches) with us. Is there a place to drop him off near the admissions office that doesn’t require him to climb stairs? Or am I just fooling myself and I should leave him home? Thanks.
The parking garage has an elevator that drops you in admissions office. It has plenty of couches and is comfortable. I think you will be fine! The campus itself would be very difficult on crutches though so definitely leave your injured child in the lobby!
This sounds right to me.
I have never actually visited the Tufts campus, but I have driven by a very large number of times and recently ate out just a couple of blocks from campus. My recollection is that the campus is reasonably large, and there are some modest hills in the area.
I would not want to be walking around the campus on crutches.
I do think that the campus is attractive and worth seeing. I suppose that you could drive around the area.
7th floor of Dowling (where the parking garage is) has couches etc. Or your kid could walk out of the door there, across the bridge, and there are usually a few chairs & tables outdoors, in case the weather is nice.
i think it’s worth doing an official visit since tufts yield protects so hard, but agree that the campus would be tough on crutches
Driving around isn’t a great substitute. Although you can drive up to the “uphill” part of campus (Residential Quad) you can’t park there. Agree with others on the Dowling Garage elevator. Maybe the Admissions office would have some ideas to help your kid on crutches get around.
