Visiting

I was offered an appointment, but I want to make a last minute visit to make sure this is what I want to do for the next 12+ years. I already made an appointment to visit in a few weeks, but the question I had was about what to wear. The woman said “smart” clothes as in no jeans, sweatshirts or sneakers. Does this mean shirt and tie, shirt tie and jacket, or just a golf shirt or something?

To paraphrase the instructions WP gives: a suit is not necessary, but smart clothes should be worn: ie button down or polo shirt, blazer, smart pants, and dress shoes.
When my son did his visit a few weeks ago he wore kakhi pants, leather shoes, a button down shirt, and a jersey. It was really cold, so he wore a warm casual jacket when outside. His blazer stayed in his overnight bag. The guys that had on suits, ties, and jackets looked somewhat uncomfortable and were dressed far more casually when we saw them at pickup the next day. Comfortable shoes are a must - you will be doing a lot of walking.
Enjoy your visit!

Got it. I recieved the e-mail 10 minutes after I made my first post.
