Visual Arts program at UMBC?

<p>Has anyone taken that major? How was it? Is it worth it?</p>

<p>No idea, but I see they offer a BA or a BFA. A BFA program should be rigorous but you should visit or try to find student work online. If you were there, you could also take classes at MICA (2/year) if they worked into your schedule too.</p>

<p>I recently spoke to someone whose daughter got a BFA in graphic design from UMBC. They were very pleased with the program and their daughter got a job after graduation!</p>

<p>I think you have to go visit and it really depends on the type of art you are interested in. Lots of my sons class mates end up there. But there is no painting program (at least according to them.)</p>
