Vocabulary

For the vocabulary, does anyone have any tips on how to do well besides just attempting to memorize tons of vocabulary words?

Also, where is a website that contains a good list of possible SAT vocabulary?

Well. You have to understand sentence structure and trigger words (such as “but,” however," “consequently,” etc.), but I’m sure you already know this. Apart from this, I’m not sure that there’s any other way to improve other than knowing the words. There’s no way around it, it’s either you know what the choices mean or you don’t.

Here is a nice list from the Princeton Review’s Hit Parade 2012:

Memorize Memorize Memorize!!! Here is a nice list too! [Insider Test Prep | SAT Vocab](http://insidertestprep.com/sat-prep/sat-vocab/)

May be it will you help you more to memorize all the words you got wrong you got in prac tests or those you didn’t get in CR psgs rather than ONLY merely memorizing word lists… which you be also doing along with the tests

If you do a prac test everyday , that will give you tons of vocab to study :P

Ok, here’s one random thing that might help a little, along with doing practice tests and stuff: I downloaded 3 sat vocab hip hop songs I found on youtube and then went running while listening to them on repeat. Haha yeah.
Also, read, and understand the roots of words instead of just memorizing them. I got sat vocab apps on my ipod but I didn’t actually use them that much, but they could be helpful if you did use them! Good luck.

I’d recommend using a program called “Anki” where you can create your own intelligent flash cards. I’ve been using it since I’ve started preparing for the SAT. First I added words from MajorTests list, then from SAT Vocab for Dummies, Direct Hits + all the words I didn’t know while doing practice test. If you are systematic and repeat the words every day for a couple of weeks, you can easily remember a lot of them. A good thing is that the program has synchronization service, which enables you to keep the cards in sync across many devices. It was pretty useful as I could revise the words on my cell phone when I was on a bus, tram etc.
