It’s not about number of hours and checking a box. It’s about wanting to improve the world around you and contributing to society.
Admissions people can see right through doing things to look good for college and padding the resume.
It’s mainly about passion and finding the thing you are passionate about. Some kids have 0 volunteer hoirs because they are pursuing other things.
Mine didn’t have any.
It’s a myth. HS students obsess over something that’s not even required.
