Volunteer Hours?

<p>Okay, so I have a question… (obviously =])… but I was reading somewhere in a thread and someone mentioned that 400 hours of community service will look good… enough to even out some “lower” test scores… but what about over 1,000 hours? I’ve done A LOT of community service, but I wasn’t sure how that factors into the decision. Do most HYP applicants have 1,000+ comm. serv. hours?</p>

More hours does not increase your chances and many HYP admissions have none</p>

<p>1000+ will look impressive o_o You better write about that, or at least mention it, in one of your essays.</p>

<p>Of course it is a major thing! Devoting 1000 hours of your life to community service is not something often seen. Make sure there that those hours have a purpose behind them though…</p>
