<p>I’m a prospective transfer student, and before I apply, I want to do some volunteer research at Cal. In particular, I want to be a research assistant in linguistics, psychology, or sociology. I have a feeling I’m not qualified, since I’m just a freshman at my community college, but I thought it wouldn’t hurt to ask. Are there any research opportunities for people like me? And if there aren’t any, what should I do to be qualified for them?</p>
<p>Also, I did try to search all of this on Google, but I couldn’t find much besides stuff about research opportunities for graduate students and undergraduate students who already go to Cal.</p>
