Volunteer work question?

Currently I am a volunteer at the va clinic. My duty is to direct and assist patients of the clinic whether it be pushing them in a wheelchair to a designated area or blatantly telling them which way to go. However, since there are many other duties at the clinic to volunteer for (I.e driving patients in the parking lot to the front in a golf cart, helping the veterans homeless program at the hospital, etc.), would it make a difference on my college application if I volunteered at a more active part of the organization?

I currently just put “VA Clinic” on my Bright Futures Record Sheet to record my hours.

"is it beneficial for me " How can we answer that? It seems like you’re bored. You need others’ opinions to confirm that to you? Make decisions and act upon them. Good luck.

-.- there, revised it to make it sound less self centered.

The self-centeredness of the original text wasn’t of issue, to me futfsu. You seemed bored and un-challenged. Why continue down that path?

“would it make a difference on my college application if I volunteered at a more active part of the organization?”

It likely won’t make ANY difference but why continue to do something you’re bored with when alternatives are at hand? That’s what I meant by : “make a decision and act upon it” in my post earlier.

Voluntarism has practically NO value per se, in college admissions. Voluntarism has TONS of value for the volunteers and the orgs being served however. It has tons of value in helping you to expand and explore if you connect with the right projects. Find value in what you’re doing or leave it and find another project.

You have a mentality problem if you are trying to use volunteering soley as a tactic to help your school applications.
