I am currently a grade 11 student with no real extracurricular activities other than working, which I have less than a month experience for. Financially speaking, would it be better for me to work ~1500 hours and make ~$16,000, or to volunteer the same amount of hours and apply for scholarships, or to diversify and do both? (if so, how much of each?) I am a student in Alberta with an 87% average and will be going into engineering, if this matters.

thank you! :)

I don’t only want to volunteer for the scholarships, but in reality I do need to find a way to get these funds.
