<p>I’m working on the IDOCs and my mom said she has a w-9 form not a w-2 form. Do I send a copy of the w-9 in the IDOC? How come w-9 is not mentioned on the website. please help!</p>

<p>This came from the IRS website. I am NOT a tax expert but this looks like the form you use to request a Taxpayer ID number. </p>
<p>The W-2 form is what employers give employees so they can complete their taxes. Some folks get 1099 forms as well.</p>
<p>I don’t know enough about this but getting a Taxpayer ID number really has nothing to do with filing one’s income taxes…unless there is something I’m missing…which is VERY possible.</p>
