Not a W&M ED applicant, but congratulations to everyone who got in!
Have a nice day.
I applied last year ED 1 and was deferred even with a triple legacy, I was then denied regular, but after one semester of college I applied to transfer this Spring and got in. To those who were deferred or rejected, I know how it feels, I know how crushing it is. If this is where you know you belong NEVER give up. You are all intelligent & amazing with so much to offer the institution, and I have no doubt you’d all make excellent additions. Take this as motivation to improve grades and try again. I am so happy that I did and am now going to attend my dream school. Good luck in the rest of your college search! and feel free to ask any questions or advice

The “Good Things” email reads like this ----
Dear ________:
People say that good things come in small packages, but in college admissions, good things come in fancy envelopes. Consider this the small package, but something fancier is on its way.
Be sure to check your mailbox closely in the coming days.
Congratulations, and welcome to the Tribe!

Hi Folks… i am being told that deferred probably means they want to see your first quarter grades in senior year… So for the folks who were deferred there is a great chance as long as you kill it in senior year. Good luck to all.
Congrats to everybody who got in! And don’t give up if you got deferred!

If you are deferred, I urge you to do two things:
-
Tell them politely and non-hysterically about your continued strong interest;
-
Email any meaningful updates, such as awards or awesome test scores. Do not tell them you are newly elected vice-president of the calligraphy club.
Oh, and 3) Find yourself some happt safeties. Several. If you are in Virginia, consider all the state-supported schools, which tend to be underrated.
Good luck!

does anyone know when the w&m official acceptance letter comes in the mail?
Hey all!! I am an OOS student with a 4.03 UW GPA, and 1380 SAT. I am considering ED II and am hoping my great Q1 grades help out. Anyone think it is a possibility??
I think, just on numbers, you probably look good. Your SAT is on the lower end of the 50% (1330-1510) but your grades sound great! As long as you have good ec’s, essays, and recommendations, you should be competitive. Remember though, a good amount of people applying ED2 were either deferred/rejected from Ivy’s and are competitive as well. Good luck!
